No big drama or anything behind this decision- but AER has always been a one-man operation and for a while I have been thinking hard about the future of the label. I've been doing Apocalyptic Empire
since 1994 - which is now 27 years! Doing the same thing for 27 years is a long time -just imagine doing the same job for 27 years!
Apocalyptic Empire is also not my "job", but my passion and a reason not to go insane doing other jobs for financial reasons. It has at times been too much and draining me of energy and motivation. The last years has been especially hectic as I am also heavily involved in a record-store in Oslo and at times active in several bands that need more and more attention - on top of a normal job - leaving basically no time to have a life outside the label, band(s), mailorder, record-store, job unless someone comes up with a magic 48-hour day.
I am still very much into extreme music after all these years and doing the record-store will continue no matter what – but after serious consideration Apocalyptic Empire Records will be history after the new FURZE Mlp is released.
The endless amount of emails, need for promotion, deals, distribution, printing, recording, artwork, trades and work in general put into new releases is taking it's toll after all these years and it is especially hard work in 2021 when there are so many labels and literally 1000 new underground releases coming every month. Trying to promote a brand new band or a brand new full-length and sell as many copies as possible is not something I am very passionate about anymore in the scene as it has become. So the decision has been made and at the end of 2021 Apocalyptic Empire Records will be history.
It’s been a hell of a ride! Thanx to all the bands I have worked with, everyone who bought a record through the years or supported the label one way or the other!

NACHASH released a bombshell of a debut CASSETTE-EP in 2015. Limited to only 300 tapes, it took the underground by storm and the demand for a more "easy" format became evident after a while. Now the cassette has been re-pressed on a limited edition of 500 CD's.

Stretching 4 tracks into 30 minutes of quality music with no filler is quite a feat, pushing the envelope of what an EP can contain. Some bands can make 30 minutes fly by, but Nachash overwhelms with such a blackened heaviness that by the end, I feel as though I've almost listened to a double album, but at no point do I feel that time is wasted for the sake of creating long tracks
Conjuring the Red Death Eclipse is both magical and ethereal, a must listen for all fans of metal. The music is crushing and transportive, visceral and euphoric, with no quality dominating over the other. Nachash intertwine all these great qualities to perfection.

Obscure Black Metal madness from Trondheim, Norway. The sold-out debut-LP now re-released on vinyl once again in co-operation between Kyrck Productions and Apocalyptic Empire Records. Hellish Black attack from the original keep of Kalessin member.
Limited to 500 copies on purple/ grey haze vinyl and black vinyl (250 copies each). The vinyl-factory fucked up the colour on this one unfortunately and made it exactly the same as the original pressing (we were suppose to get a red vinyl version on this 2nd press). However, the lay-out on the back of the LP is completely different from the original pressing as well as other details - so all die hard vinyl-collectors will have no problem separating this pressing from the first pressing.

SARKOM performs the exclusive track “Disintegrate”! This quality Picture Disc 7’’ EP comes housed in a thick regular 7’’ EP cover/ jacket. This is the 2nd pressing of 500 copies we do of this picture disc 7''EP that we originally released a few years back. The intention was always to release it in 1000 copies in total, but we did 500 copies to start with that sold out quite fast and the 2nd pressing has always been pushed back because of other releases being a priority. LOBOTOMIZED's debut album "Norwegian Trash" is an aggressive mishmash of putrid Metal and dirty punk appropriately classified as Trash Metal by the band themselves. Drawing inspiration from such diverse and deadly institutions as ABSCESS, ANAL BABES, GG ALLIN, DOOMED, DISSIMILIS and NORWEGIAN DANSEBAND etc., a highly potent mix reeking of putrefaction is brewed. Ironically this somewhat demented approach to the music offers the Metal scene something authentic, savvy and fresh in all its primitive, counterfeit oldness. The album features contributions from Eric Cutler (AUTOPSY), Arne Willy Foss (OLE IVARS), Rune Rudberg, Stian Carstensen (FARMERS MARKET), Petter Baarlie (BACKSTREET GIRLS) and Dopi (MACHETAZO) amongst other raunchy hoboes.

SLOW DAYS!!!
20 years ago today, June 6th 1994, I officially started a small underground mail-order for the extreme Metal music that has been my passion for so many years. Apocalyptic Empire Records was born exactly 2 decades ago today! First only as a small mail-order for Norwegian customers distributing vinyls from labels like Osmose, Misanthropy and Avantgarde, but eventually I also started releasing records on my own. Things worked surprisingly well without anything called internet, but only through letters, flyers and people calling in orders on my 2 ton brick of a mobile-phone. 20 years is a long time for anything, and I am a bit puzzled that I am still doing this label/ mailorder. I have calculated that there are about 35000 records that I have released out there with my logo on and on top of that comes the thousands upon thousands of mail-order items that has been spread throughout the years. 35thousand records released might not seem like a lot for 20 years, but considering it has all been shipped one record at a time from my bedroom or home-office during my free time (this is not my regular day-job) it is quite mindblowing to think about how many packages has been delivered at the post-office during these years. Cheers to everyone who has bought records and supported during all these years, all the bands, labels, distributors, shops, printers, vinyl manufacturers, designers and awesome people all over he world I have had the pleasure of meeting, talking to or hanging out with because of this label! Continue to support!

After some inactive months - Apocalyptic Empire Records is now up an running as normal again. Our webshop is taking orders as usual. We are working on some killer new recordings to be released in 2014! Some of the first to come in this new year will be the 2 first TANGORODRIM albums "Those Who Unleashed" and "Unholy Metal Way" on LP! These excellent, alcohol-drenched and unholy Black Metal albums have never before been released on black wax - so expect some top quality vinyl versions to be made available "soon" in 2014! In the meantime - the band did their first ever live performance in late 2013 - and here is a video recording of that gig!

Apocalyptic Empire Records will be closed from September 16th until December 5th!!!! As most of you might know, Apocalyptic Empire is just a small one-man business and yours truly have dedicated most of my time the past two decades to this label and mail-order. This autumn I am starting a new chapter in my life and will be doing some serious studies and classes in the years to come. This will have little or no effect on the label-activity as I have always done other things besides the label, but for a short period this autumn I will have to attend classes and studies outside of Norway. It will of course be impossible to run the label and sell records in this period, so for a short time from September 16th until December 5th Apocalyptic Empire will shut down all activities. The web-shop will be closed, I will not be answering emails or anything business-releated (so please restrain yourself from mailing me unless it is something etremely important in this period). In the period Apocalyptic Empire is closed the MION’S HILL lp/cd will be exclusively available for sale through our other Norwegian partners in crime; Unborn Productions, Duplicate Records, Terratur Possessions, No Posers Please and Neseblod Records. This way the album will still be easily available even though Apocalyptic Empire is closed for a few months.

The debut-album from Norwegian Blackened Death Metal band MION’S HILL is unleashed September 12th on CD and LP! Heavily influenced by the first wave of Black/ Death Metal bands such as HELLHAMMER, BATHORY, MANTAS/ DEATH and VENOM, the band released their debut demo-tape in 2012 entitled “Festering Curses”. Being part of the growing scene in Kolbotn (a small town in Norway that must have something strange in the water since so many great Metal-bands have risen from that town the past years), this young trio will surely be someone to look out for in the future! The members live and breathe Metal and are also involved in other extremely interesting new bands like GOUGE, CONDOR and MABUSE. With their debut album “Black Death” the echoes from the past is obvious, but without becoming just another boring retro copy-cat band, MION’S HILL offers a savage and aggressive 8-track assault of timeless deadly Metal that will please any old-schooler as well as those who simply worship at the altar of METAL!

LOBOTOMIZED's debut album "Norwegian Trash" is an aggressive mishmash of putrid Metal and dirty punk appropriately classified as Trash Metal by the band themselves. Drawing inspiration from such diverse and deadly institutions as ABSCESS, ANAL BABES, GG ALLIN, DOOMED, DISSIMILIS and NORWEGIAN DANSEBAND etc., a highly potent mix reeking of putrefaction is brewed. Ironically this somewhat demented approach to the music offers the Metal scene something authentic, savvy and fresh in all its primitive, counterfeit oldness. The album features contributions from Eric Cutler (AUTOPSY), Arne Willy Foss (OLE IVARS), Rune Rudberg, Stian Carstensen (FARMERS MARKET), Petter Baarlie (BACKSTREET GIRLS) and Dopi (MACHETAZO) amongst other raunchy hoboes.
